Cascoland Journal
Tuesday 7 February
Media meeting at the house. Figuring out a strategy how to get people to visit or get involved in the Cascoland project with our publications (occasional flyers and our weekly newsletter Vusanani which ultimately have to form the backbone for a Cascoland catalogue).
At this moment Cascoland is a six-week endeavor. But what after that? It is definitely a question that Africans will have in mind. What they need are ambassadors that can keep on helping them. That was one of the main requests at the presentation last Sunday. Of course, through its network and publications Cascoland already partly does that work for New Crossroads. But to show real involvement it could be important to leave some visible evidence behind that Cascoland is doing exactly that. Given the fact that public spaces in New Crossroads will definitely get lasting structures left behind by the Cascoland crew is a clear indicator that Cascoland is serious about structurally contributing to the communities it works in. |
